Brass Monkey

Cam gave me a call late last week about sailing on the 12 with him for the Brass Monkey regatta which was this weekend… not having done any remotely exciting sailing for a long time I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get out on the water and go for a blast.

Saturday was a reasonably fresh and pretty harsh westerly, we made it around the track in both races with a swim in each race… fortunately the weather was beautiful because the water was a bit chilly!

Sunday was a bit calmer with the wind around the 10 knot mark. Nothing quite as exciting as the saturday though still a lot of fun.

We weren’t particularly concerned with our results (in one race we were having such a good last run that we just kept going past the finish line without going through it and then sailed back up from bradleys) so I was quite surprised when we got 4th (I think) in the quick boats division.

A couple of pics of us taken by my brother from Cremorne Point on the saturday.

Hello? Is this blog just about sailing? Perhaps you could make one about BBQd sausages. I love barbecued sausages very much.

Love,
Milton
